So your website is live – what now?

Congratulations on your new website!

Building a new website is an exciting process and once it’s ready to go live it’s easy to sit back and enjoy being finished. But, there are a number of ways you can continue to help grow and get the most out of your new website. Here are some of our top tips.

Share your website on social media

Having a great website won’t make a difference if no one knows about it. Share your new website on your social media channels and direct people there when you’re meeting face to face. Linking relevant pages on your social posts can also help you measure interest levels in different products and services to help you see which is the most popular.

Regularly update your website with blogs and other news

To help a website continue to rank, regularly update it with blogs, update existing pages and even add extra pages in the future. Creating a blog content strategy can help you plan in advance and boost your search ranking organically. Your blogs can include company news, how to guides, product information for your users and much more – think about what you’d be interested in as a customer and write posts that answer those questions!

Budget for paid advertising

If you’ve got some marketing budget left over, using this for paid Google Ads can help drive additional traffic to your website. Don’t ignore Bing Ads too – Bing now makes up around 10% of the global market so ads can be less competitive and easier to be the top ad. Paid advertising can be particularly effective at special times in the year (such as Christmas) or when you have a new product/service launch.

Measure monthly analytics with Google Analytics

To monitor how well your website is doing, set up Google Analytics on your site and check on a monthly basis to see which pages are performing the best. These analytics can help you make changes to anything that may not be working as well as expected and create a plan to keep growing.

Monitor user feedback

The best way to know about any improvements for your site is to ask your users. Asking your users if they have any thoughts on the site can give you a greater insight into the user experience. Getting real opinions is a valuable way to help you involve your customers and improve their service.

Start planning for the future

Depending on your business plans, you may be considering offering different products and services in the future. Planning your website updates alongside your growth plans can help keep your website updated as you grow. Creating a website plan for the next year will structure your marketing plan and help you budget for any necessary design work.

Launching your website is just the start of your marketing journey – implementing a strategy can help you make the most of your investment and help your business grow.
